Thankful Thursday!

 In my attempt to increase a habit of thankfulness, I'm sharing a weekly thing for which I'm thankful!

This week...

I'm so thankful for all the precious time with my Grandpa, and I'm especially thankful that he knows Jesus and that we have a joyful future in eternity to look forward to!

I could talk forever about my grandpa--he's absolutely the best. But I'll keep it short--I've seen him joking and pranking and being ornery, and I've seen him laugh--a lot. I've seen him gently and graciously face those who sinned against him. I've seen him meet trials with faith and fortitude. I've seen him work hard and long and thankless chores with humor and contentedness. I've seen him broken when he lost the precious love of his life when my grandma passed away and then shocked and bitter when his son was murdered a year later.  And more recently, I've seen him handing all this back before the Lord, and entrusting the big and the little things to his Savior in a way I'd never witnessed before. Then, I saw him at peace. These last few weeks have been precious, even as they are hard, and I'm so grateful for the example and treasure that Grandpa is--I'm so grateful for the times my kids and I have all been able to be with him and enjoy this incredible man!
