21 Things to Pray

It’s so easy to get into problem-solving mode and immediately jump to solutions within my power when we come up against an issue. But if the last 12 months taught us anything, it should be that there is an awful lot that we can’t fix! But guess what? We serve a God who CAN fix it all, and in His infinite grace, He invites us to come before Him and lay our burdens at His feet! Will you join me in praying for our homeschools?

21 Things To Pray for Home School (and beyond!)

  1. Pray that parents would be led by the Spirit in wisdom and truth as they disciple their children, whether through intentional homeschooling or “accidental” home school because of school shutdowns. (Ephesians 1:17)
  2. Pray for discernment and courage for believers navigating this era of history, that they would obey God and have “deep roots” in the Gospel and in truth. (Mark 4:1-20)
  3. Ask the Lord to grant the homeschool community with favor before officials and legislators.
  4. Pray that the Lord would preserve and expand our homeschool freedoms. Ask that He would raise up more advocates for those freedoms and strengthen those who have been vigilant through the years. (2 Corinthians 3:17)
  5. Pray for your elected officials to recognize that the education of children is the responsibility of the parents, not that of the nation. (1 Timothy 2:1-2)
  6. Pray that in times of uncertainty you would learn to find shelter in Jesus and the Word of God. (Psalm 27:5)
  7. Pray for unity and healing in our nation. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
  8. Ask the Lord to build fellowship and connection within the homeschool community, providing support and encouragement for all. (Philippians 2:3-4)
  9. Pray for strength and wisdom to persevere through trials and seek the Lord in every challenge.(Philippians 3:13-14)
  10. Give thanks for the freedom we have to homeschool our children and raise them up for His glory. (Colossians 3:17)
  11. Rejoice in God’s mercy and His faithfulness in all things.
  12. Thank God for sending His son to save us, shelter us, love us, protect us, and use us to build His kingdom on earth.
  13. Pray for opportunities as a family to serve, encourage, and minister to others. (1 Peter 4:10)
  14. Pray for upcoming elections and the impact they may have on homeschooling.
  15. Pray for homeschooling families in our nation and around the world.
  16. Pray for your own family – your homeschooling journey, the Lord’s guidance, your relationship with your spouse and kids, your children’s character and their futures, and ways your family can minister to others. (Isaiah 54:13)
  17. Pray for the Lord’s guidance for strong relationships with one another. (Colossians 3:12-14)
  18. Pray for homeschooling fathers to walk and lead in integrity and that their hearts will be turned towards their children so they may instill in them a love for Christ and His Church. (Proverbs 20:7)
  19. Pray for homeschooling mothers to walk generously in the fruit of the spirit. That their hearts be encouraged as they fill so many different roles in their family, church, and community. Pray that their minds be focuses on the Lord and that they will trust everything to Him, not giving place to comparisons. (Philippians 4:4-7)
  20. Pray for the fellowship of believers; that they would gather and worship without fear in obedience to God’s Word and not “give unto Caesar” that which is the Lord’s. (Hebrews 10:25, Matthew 22:20-22)
  21. Pray that we would be faithful both to the unique callings that God has given to each of us, as well as to the callings God gives all believers and that we would continually encourage one another in this. (Hebrews 10:24-25, Matthew 28:16-20, 1 Corinthians 1:26-27)
