It’s a Grand Ol’ Flag!
Having trouble keeping up morale in your troops? Try a practicing little old-fashioned patriotism!
Something my kids enjoy daily is our reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance (they take turns holding the flag) and singing a patriotic song. We started with ‘O Say Can You See,’ and, ‘My Country ‘Tis Of Thee,’ and we’ve branched out since to, ‘God Bless America,’ ‘This Land Is Your Land,’ ‘It’s A Grand Ol’ Flag,’ ‘The Battle Hymn of the Republic,’ ‘The Marines Hymn,’ and more! Bonus; they learn flag and national anthem etiquette, and they’ll be all ready for the Fourth of July!!!
Singing these fun, peppy songs, chock-full of educational value, and most kids get a kick out of marching around the house with a drum belting out, “Glory, Glory Hallelujah!”
Its fun and easy way to cheer everyone up and appreciate this amazing country where we live—give it a try!
